i can feel the temperature risin'

Question: What happens next when:

1) you are in the process of wiping out your "emergency money" due to a extravagant European vacation

2) you are just days from leaving the country for several weeks

3) it is hot outside. very very hot

4) to clarify #2, or to look at it in another way, you still have several days to be at home before leaving

Answer: your air conditioner breaks.

Grrrr.

Oh man. That just sucks. Is it fixable or totally kaput? Didn't this same AC quit on you last summer? I think the answer is to grit your teeth and pay to get it fixed. If its too hot and sticky to sleep for more than a night or two you won't feel like packing and leaving and everyone will be grumpy. And let's just hope that this is not the start of The Rule of Three major appliances breaking down right before you leave!

How soon do you leave for Europe again?

Fixable, you ask? Hmm.

1st try: oh yes. easy as pie. only replace the fan motor.

but wait! replaced fan motor burns out too.

2nd try: oh yes. no problay-mo. fix the electrical short, THEN replace the fan motor.

but wait!! fan motor, um, doesn't blow!

stay tuned for more (if you're interested in this fascinating saga.)

Grr. Perhaps it shall be fixed tomorrow, but perhaps not.

We leave on Monday - just a few days. And we haven't started packing yet. Eek!

Funny update on the AC -

They came back this morning because the AC was running (sounded funny), but the cold air was just barely seeping out of the registers.

Turned out they had installed the fan to run in the wrong direction.

Heh. The tech was more than slightly embarrassed.

But I'm cool now, so it's all GOOD.

Did someone say something wrong? I'm normally the first one to do that. LOL. I was just wandering why comment moderatino has been enabled. Let me know if I opened my big trap and said something that I shouldn't have.

LOL, no no, Mr. Trouble. You did absolutely nothing wrong! I just had some very long and inappropriate emails posted to my blog from folks I didn't know. It was essentially a family argument, and for some reason, they thought it was OK to take it into my blog. So I've turned on the moderation for a while because of that.

You'd *better* not stop posting!
And what do you mean about the heat in Phoenix? Are you there?

Yes, I'm here. Regina had to come up here, down here, wherever the hell, for conferences, and I tagged along so that I could tour yet another ball park(Chase Field) where the Diamonbacks play and also get in some trouble! LOL. We just thought that it was hot in Texas. I've never felt such awful heat before this weekend. The only good thing about it, is that you don't sweat, you just bake! It ws 105 last night at around 10:00 and it feels like someone has a hair dryer on you whenever the wind blows. I wanted to go and see the Grand Canyon while I am here, but it's too far and I don't want to go by mice elf. It's very cool to rub elbows with some of the reps from the companies though. Next year, we'll be in Boston and I can't wait and I'm already going to get on a waiting list for Red Sox tickets!!!! Please tell me that ya'll will go too...... It's going to be around July 1st next year, and I just had a brainstorm and thought that we could save our money and take the whole gang with us if we can afford it. Anyway, I won't sit here and write a novel, I know that you're getting ready for your trip. Have a safe and happy trip and take plenty of photos so I can continue to live vicariously. I'll send you some photos from here. Have you ever been to Arizona?

Hugs and love

Red Sox game next summer? Hmm, I'll have to ask DH to see if he's remotely interested. LOL! How fun would that be? Keep us posted - we're always up for a trip to Boston!!

Have fun in Phoenix! I've never been, but DH has. He loved it (but I think he was there in the winter). I am *NOT* a heat person. I would love the photos - please send them along.

I'll be in touch when we get back.
